I realised tt im really a music asshole. WHY? Becos i seriously tink im tone deaf.
Believe it or not, simple stuff like C major, C MAJOR PPL ITS C MAJOR. The simplest and the easiest yet i can do it so badly. There my hands cant coordinate, i get the fingerings wrong over and over again.
How did i survive till here? ha. Grade 8 DOESN’T NOE HOW TO PLAY C MAJOR SMOOTHLY?!

People nowadays are simply too practical. There u see aunties uncles friends asking you ‘ oh you learn piano? which grade are you in now? ‘
and if u replied grade 8, they’ll say ‘ WHOA tts very gooood! ‘
and if u replied ‘ ive got no grade, but i can play the piano ‘, they’ll go like ‘ Oh……’
See the difference?
Next thing they’ll ask is ‘ how you fair for the exam? ‘
if you replied ‘ Distinction ‘ , they’ll go ‘ OMG you are fantastic! ‘
If you replied ‘ Merit ‘ , they’ll say ‘ oh thats good ‘
& if you replied ‘ Pass ‘ , they’ll say ‘ oh… okay.. ‘
Ha.
I duno why am i saying all this now. Perhaps its the result of playing the piano with a messy mind. Hence evrything become so messy that it messed me up.

i love music, i love playing the piano. But sometimes, it went beyond the line of passion.
Hey Weiting, cheerup yea. I know how you feel. I’m worse than you okay. I SUPER cant memorise scores and at least you have good sight-reading skills. I dont. And I have to practise like mad just to get ONE page right. CHEERUP okay ! (:

Of cos theres a need to practice but yeah sometimes is really pissed me off with the wrong fingerings and the lack of practice the 2 months i missed during O lvls, it became like shit.

Girl, don’t worry too much. Cos I bet I’m worse. It’s true when you said that people do judge others with their certs and all that. That is the reason why I don’t wana tell my friends that I’m learning diploma esp friends whom I asked them to teach me guitar. I don’t wana be treated with the “wow, you must have known a lot of things”. I would rather be treated as a music idiot. Serious. Sometimes, I do get very irritated with the fact that I can’t improvise! So what if you get a dip cert but you can’t improvise? The cert is like a piece of EXPENSIVE paper. Imagine when people know that you’d got a grade 8 cert and asked you to play a song ON THE SPOT. No matter what, I would say that if you’re prepared to tell others that you’re a grade 8 student, better prepare your songs well, unless there’s no piano available then that is. Haha.
although i dun noe piano dat much, i noe that practice makes perfect. u have a music brain! jus spend a little more time on ur piano n u will get it rite!
juz wan to add on: i m a classic example.i joined band without knowing anything. u rmb? i cnt even memorise the notes n i tot that i choosed the wrong cca. but i tot that since i joined, i shuld put my heart in to learn the instruments. n i m nt bad nw rite?? haha! x)

YES YES! grade 8 cannt play song on the spot. WHOA, tts hilarious rite to many. you become pressurised when family and friends ask you which grade you are in and yeah, u said grade 8 ( for you diploma ) and they’ll judge you like u noe everything which in fact , we nd scores n stuff like this. for me its really difficult to memorise a piece >< i seriously duno why. haha yeah, i’d rather be a music idiot or wadsoever
